Network enable “dumb” RS-232 devices
Model 485DSS allows RS-232 devices to be placed on an RS- 422 or RS-485 network and be individually controlled. Put a converter on each device you wish to contact. A host PC with RS-422 or RS-485 capability can then connect to each node using a unique address from 0 to 255. Once a node is selected and the connection made, any type of monitoring, control or programming information can be exchanged. A QuickBASIC demonstration program with source code is included. RS-232 connector is DB25M, RS-485 connector is a terminal block. Requires an external 12 VDC power supply.

- Host PC can be 4-wire RS-422, 2 or 4-wire RS-485 (standard types)
